Starting here from creating new ad unit. As shown in the screen, create a new ad unit by clicking on it.
We need to give it a name. It can be any name which will help you to recall your ad later. I personally prefer naming it as top, bottom, sidebar etc ads . As by the name only it gives me the idea that where I have placed this ad in my site.
Ad Size
After choosing the name next comes the choice of Ad Size. You can choose any of your ad size which suits in with your site.
Responsive Ad
The responsive ad will fit in whatever space is available. It can take any shape depending on the placement of the ad code. If placed in a sidebar it will either take the shape of large rectangle or a sky scrapper. If placed on the top it will be displayed as leader board ad. You do not have to worry about which shape will suit your ad space while choosing responsive ad.
Leaderboard Ad
The next comes the Leaderboard whose dimension is already mentioned as 728*90. It is suited for the Top Page ad. Like below your website name.
Large Rectangle
As the name already says of its shape. It is best suited for side banner ads with a dimension of 336*280.

How to Place Ad Code in your site ?

If your page is showing the ad boxes type then your ad has been placed correctly.
It generally takes up to 2 days to receive a conformation email from google ad-sense. If your website does not comply with the guidelines of ad-sense then you will receive an explanation as why your application has been rejected.
